After going through childhood photographs I came upon this photo of me as a little girl in a pair of dungarees. I thought it was quite funny as colourful dungarees are something that I still love to wear to this day! So not a lot has changed! For some reason, I felt compelled to reimagine this in an illustration. I was very much inspired by Shirley Hughes who illustrated My Naughty Little Sister. Which was a book I received once for Christmas as a child.
To further explore my mini-me character, I played around with different facial expressions. Particularly exploring the emotions we often experience as humans, especially as children. From the top annoyance, shock, happiness, extreme shock, anger, and of course sadness.
